Wednesday, Dec. 30

It was great to be with our baby. I let her know all about Joe’s many flights and safe return to the states. She, in turn, gurgled and smiled back. We’re still adjusting to this new routine. After all, where’s that funny guy that claps and plays the hello game?

After the visit, I convinced our driver to accompany me for an extended photoshoot to my favorite part of the city. There are a couple of newly painted streets with pastel, festive colors and small parks with statues of literary scholars and war heroes. Amongst this native country’s signage, I was surprised to see a storefront with the writing “Women.” Not sure what’s inside, but it was worth a pic.
