We were very sad to not be able to see our baby. We distracted ourselves with finding an authentic instrument from the region -- the dombra, to add to our home along with our piano and guitar. Our translator gave us a wonderful tour of a beautiful Russian Orthodox church that was built in the 17th century. He was perhaps more interested in taking photos than us, as he gently guided Wendy’s hand to get the best angle of each photo.
We were transfixed by the artwork within. We were grateful to each light a candle as a prayer for our baby’s health. The two candles merged together-- a sign that all was well and the bright light was reaching her that day.
She is beautiful! We can't wait to meet her and give her a million kisses! Take care of all of you! Love, Pat
