Thursday, Dec. 10

Today we were able to be alone with our baby, hold her in our arms, and play with her for the first time. What a delight. We were all very nervous, but she was very easy. While getting to know one another, our task at hand was to also gather medical information for our doctors back home-- easier said than done. But, we all persevered, and got through it. The visit was over before we could catch a breath, and our translator lovingly returned her for her afternoon nap.

On our way back to the hotel, our driver stopped to show us a war monument and one of the city’s rivers. It was great fun to walk on the frozen water, and see ice fisherman at work and ice skaters enjoying the winter day. It helped to ease the transition of saying goodbye to our baby for that day.
