Dear little M, Today your mommy is going into court to finalize your becoming her daughter. She is in a foreign land with foreign words and foreign customs - but what is not foreign, what is so completely natural, is the feeling she has when she holds you. And cradles you. And sings to you. While most mommies go through just nine months of pregnancy - a bit of nausea perhaps and other physical changes - YOUR mommy has spent almost four years birthing you. She has gone across the world to find you. She has encountered and surmounted incredible challenges and through it all, she pushed on with courage and faith. She has labored little one. She has labored more than you can imagine. Your mommy is in a wind-swept, snowy, somewhat desolate hotel room about to march into court to claim you. And the rest of your family is exuberant and inspired and so very eager to meet you. Happy birthday my dear neice.
You are really looking like a Mom with that little bundle of joy.
