Joe arrived on Saturday, and I couldn’t have been more relieved and happy. No more solo parenting-- finally the three of us united were united-- a family. I was so glad that he and Emma could do their own form of bonding now, too. Our days were filled with more fun, play, holding, as I showed Joe the inventive caregiving things I had developed per bottles/diaper changes/baths, etc. And Joe tried his own version of parenting and playing with Emma. We slowly got into our family rhythm.
We also had numerous conversations with our translator/coordinators about when to leave this town for our final destination to a larger city. More challenges ensued, as were told the disappointing news that there was a major glitch with the processing of Emma’s passport. Rather than flying home Feb. 2, it now looked like Feb. 5. We regrouped and set our sights on that date.
